The Kiewit Scholars Program will develop high-potential students as graduates who are well-rounded, intellectually curious, future industry leaders. Through a curated three-year, cohort-based program paired with a Construction Engineering Degree from Colorado School of Mines, students will gain the skills and knowledge they need to become world-class engineers and leaders.
Students who are selected will participate in exclusive experiences focused on leadership development, special group activities, project visits and immersion trips, significant exposure to the industry, and mentorship from members of Kiewit’s senior management.

The Kiewit Scholarship Program (KSP) offers up to $14,000/year for in-state students and up to $20,000/year for out-of-state students for tuition and fees for up to 6 semesters of undergraduate study.
KSP focuses on identifying rising sophomores interested in pursuing a degree in Construction Engineering. The scholarship builds professional readiness through invaluable curated experiences as a member of a prestigious and small cohort community.
Program experiences include:
- Seminars, site visits, coaching, and mentoring throughout the calendar year.
- Paid summer internship opportunities through Kiewit. This is in addition to their scholarship aid.
- Immersive learning trips in and out of Colorado.
Through the PASCAL Center and the Construction Engineering Program, Kiewit Scholars benefit from wraparound support, one-on-one advising, and specialized professional development events.

Applicant Requirements: Selection criteria for Kiewit Scholars include:
- Enrollment as a full-time student as a rising sophomore (as determined by entry term).
- Enrollment in the Construction Engineering program.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.9 or greater
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience.
Preference be given to students who express an interest in working outside of Colorado after graduation.
Scholarship Renewal Eligibility: Kiewit Scholars will:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.9 or greater
- Consistently and authentically engage with Kiewit Scholarship program opportunities.
- Actively participate in at least one university-sponsored student club/organization.

Colorado School of Mines Scholarship Disclaimer
We encourage students to apply for all available scholarships for which they are eligible. However, students may be restricted from participating in multiple scholarship cohorts. If a student is selected for more than one scholarship, the student may be required to select their top choice. Once scholarship offers are made, guidance will be provided to the student and family to assist with this choice, if applicable.
Important Dates and Deadlines:
- Application opens: Monday, December 15, 2025
- Application closes: Sunday, February 22, 2026.
- Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm. Late submissions will not be considered.
- To apply, please complete the Mines General Scholarship Application accessible through your Trailhead account. Once completed, you will be able to access the Kiewit Scholars Program application.
Applicants will be asked to answer the following prompts on the 2025-26 Kiewit Scholarship Application:
- What are your professional aspirations after graduating from Mines?
- What are your unique strengths and how do you apply them? Please explain.
- What about construction engineering is most interesting to you?
- Kiewit is proud to work throughout North America. Scholars will have an opportunity to view projects and sites outside Colorado. After graduating from Mines, where do you want to work and why?
- What do you most respect in a leader? With reference to specific examples, how do you lead by example?
